OBJECTIVES
This seminar is designed to familiarize the participant with significant current medicolegal issues and the extent and manner in which these issues impact upon the physician, patient, patient's family, society, legislature and courts. The ever increasing role that the legal system is playing on the way in which health care is organized, financed and delivered, and on the ways in which illness and injury are identified and treated cannot be ignored. It is important that physicians remain current and knowledgeable about the legal environment in which they practice. The overall objective of the seminars is to update the participants understanding of the relationship between medicine and law. Each seminar gives emphasis to common medicolegal issues confronted in practice. Program syllabi further enhance formal presentations and provide a reference guide for later study and review. The experienced faculty have joint doctorates in both medicine and law and thereby bring to the program a depth of knowledge and background in both disciplines.

Participation in the seminar will be by pre-registration only.
